Learn More About Us
In recent times Morrinsville has become known for the colourful cows that appear on prominent sites throughout the Town. It's not surprising given that the dairy industry is the economic driver for the area with more cows within a 10 km radius of the town than anywhere else in the world.
Morrinsville Rotary Club was established in 1945 and has more than 40 members representing a wide range of professions. We meet in our own Clubrooms on Monday evenings to enjoy each others company over dinner and we usually listen to a guest speaker before attending to Club business.
Our focus of course is on service within our Community and on fund-raising projects to fund worthy causes, both locally and overseas. Major projects have included being the lead organisation to fundraise for the Morrinsville Events Centre, the new Town Clock, a new delivery van for Hospice, and even a Rotamoo cow to help promote the town (seen here).
We raise money with projects like our annual fertiliser drive,  firewood sales, collection of old batteries, catering for the week long Rotary Youth Leadership Award programme, organisation of the monthly Country Market Day and rugby gate duty during the winter.
Numerous organisations seek our help for street collections, marshalling at cycling or fun walk events and gate duty for fireworks displays, to name a few.
